This big gun weighs 3678 pounds (barrel only) and  was built in Liege in 1851.

This  is not a "Sea Salvage" cannon and not taken from a sunken ship, so it does not require any conservation other then normal painting.

The authentic reproduction carriage  was made of teakwood and it’s  an exact  replica of a carriage of those times to original plans with iron wheels.

This cannon is truly a show piece for some collector or business who wants to own a spectacular piece of history and can be placed inside or outside.

Original 1750's Revolutionary War Bronze Cannon

Dating from before the War of Independence!

This tremendous bronze cannon is reported to have been cast by Dutch immigrants in the Colonies. We cannot find a foundry stamp or any other markings. The original collector advised us that since it was cast  in America and the fact that casting cannons that were to be used against the Kings troops was a hanging offence, the casters did not want their identity discovered.  It is defiantly of Dutch influence and in PERFECT condition!  Comes complete with the display carriage.

SOLD - December 12, 2004
